Usage:
1. Change flow direction: Used to change the flow direction of the medium in the pipeline system by 90 degrees or 45 degrees.
2. Connection method: Connect with the upstream and downstream straight pipe sections by welding. Both ends are grooves, and welding is performed after aligning with the groove of the straight pipe (usually argon arc welding primer + manual arc welding cover, or fully automatic welding).
3. Specifications: According to the bending radius: long radius is most commonly used, and short radius is used in places with limited space.

Installation precautions:
1. Material matching: The material of the elbow must be completely consistent or compatible with the material of the connected pipe to ensure weldability and performance.
2. Specification matching: The nominal diameter, wall thickness, and bending radius of the elbow must be consistent with the connected pipe.
3. Welding quality: Welding is the key point of pressure bearing.
Groove preparation: Strictly process the groove in accordance with the welding process regulations, and thoroughly remove oil, rust, moisture, etc. on both sides of the groove.
Pairing: Ensure that the elbow and straight pipe are concentric, the misalignment is within the standard allowable range, and the gap between the pairs is uniform and meets the WPS requirements.
Welding process: Qualified welders shall weld according to the qualified WPS. Ensure full penetration, no defects such as incomplete fusion, slag inclusions, pores, undercuts, cracks, etc. Pay attention to interlayer temperature control.
Post-weld treatment: Remove welding slag splashes. According to the material and wall thickness requirements, post-weld heat treatment may be required to eliminate stress.
Non-destructive testing: According to the design specifications and standard requirements, non-destructive testing such as radiographic testing or ultrasonic testing shall be performed on the weld to ensure that the internal quality meets the standards.
4. Medium flow direction: For some specially designed elbows, pay attention to the installation direction to ensure that the medium flow direction meets the design.
5. Support: The elbow is susceptible to fluid impact and vibration. The pipe support should be reasonably set to prevent the weld from being subjected to excessive bending moment or vibration load. The support position should not be too close to the weld.
6. Spatial positioning: Accurate measurement and positioning before installation to ensure that the elbow can achieve the spatial orientation required by the design after installation.
