Uses: For direct, permanent connection between PE pipe and metal valves or fittings with internal threads (directly with copper external threads) or external threads (directly with copper internal threads).
Structure: One end is a PE socket (for connecting PE pipes), and the other end is a copper internal thread (FPT) or external thread (MPT). The PE part and the copper part are usually firmly combined by mechanical compression, injection molding or threaded connection.
Connection method:
1. PE pipe end connection: Insert the PE pipe into the direct plastic socket.
Hot melt socket welding (most commonly used and reliable): Heat the direct plastic socket and PE pipe end, insert and cool to solidify.
Mechanical connection (less used for PE): Some models may be designed to be connected by tightening the compression cap to compress the ferrule, but the reliability is usually not as good as hot melt, and the applicability needs to be confirmed. Hot melt welding is the first choice.
2. Metal end connection:
PE copper female thread directly (FPT): Wrap the raw tape or apply sealant on the external thread of the metal pipe fitting, screw it into the direct copper internal thread and tighten it appropriately.
PE copper male thread directly (MPT): Wrap the raw tape or apply sealant on the direct copper external thread, screw it into the metal valve or pipe fitting with internal thread and tighten it appropriately.
