PVC bonding leak repairer

1. No power supply is required, it is not restricted by remote valves, and it works under pressure, which is particularly suitable for underground operations in coal mines.
2. Under normal operation of the pipeline, there is no need to remove the pipeline, because the connection part has a sealing ring to achieve a high-strength sealing effect.
3. Suitable for underground engineering, chemical industry, tap water, various underground pipelines, etc. In the absence of power, complete pressure connection, pressure maintenance and water extraction engineering.
4. Without stopping water or oil, you can quickly complete the positioning connection at any part of the pipeline. It has the characteristics of high strength, small size and easy operation.
5. The quick take-over device is manually operated, does not need to stop production, and is used in various water and oil pipelines. It does not need to use any power for rapid maintenance.

Possible causes of PVC bonding leaks

The surface is not clean:

Oil, dust, moisture: There are oil stains, mud, dust or clear water on the bonding surface of the socket of the pipe and the pipe fitting, which will form an isolation layer to prevent the glue from effectively merging with PVC.

Solution: Use a clean, lint-free cloth with a special PVC cleaner to thoroughly wipe the bonding surface to ensure it is clean and dry. Do not use water or ordinary detergent instead!

Surface is not polished or not polished enough:

Smooth surface: PVC pipes and fittings are smooth when they leave the factory, making it difficult for glue to fully penetrate and bite.

Solution: Use fine sandpaper or special grinding tools to evenly grind the bonding surface to remove the surface bright layer, increase the roughness, and improve the bonding strength. Clean again after grinding. 

3. Inadequate insertion:

Insufficient insertion depth: The pipe is not fully inserted into the bottom of the pipe fitting socket, resulting in insufficient effective bonding area.

Solution: Mark the insertion depth line on the pipe, apply glue, and quickly and forcefully insert the pipe straight to the bottom to ensure that it reaches the marked line.

4. Insufficient or no rotation after plugging:

Uneven glue distribution: If a small rotation is not performed after insertion, the glue cannot be evenly distributed on the bonding surface, which may cause gaps or glue accumulation.

Solution: After inserting to the bottom, immediately perform a small rotation of about 1/4 circle to evenly distribute the glue, and then maintain pressure for at least 15-30 seconds. 

5. Improper timing of plugging:

Too short time: If the plugging is not immediately completed after applying the glue, the glue surface begins to solidify, affecting the fusion effect.

Too long time: If you wait too long to plug after applying the glue, the activity of the glue will decrease or even dry out.

Solution: "Fast" is the key! After applying the glue, quickly complete the plugging and rotation while the glue is still wet. 

6. Failure to maintain pressure or external force disturbance:

Movement in the early stage of bonding: During plugging and maintaining pressure, the interface is moved or disturbed, destroying the bonding layer being formed.

Solution: After plugging and rotating, maintain stable axial pressure for more than 15-30 seconds to ensure a firm initial bond. Avoid any external force on the interface before the glue is fully cured. 

7. Insufficient curing time:

Premature pressure test/water flow: Pressure test or water flow before the glue is fully cured.

Solution: Strictly follow the curing time on the glue manual. Influencing factors include pipe diameter, ambient temperature, humidity, ventilation conditions, etc. Usually:

Small diameter (≤2 inches): Carefully handle after at least 2 hours of curing; pressure test after 24 hours.

Large diameter, low temperature, high humidity environment: It takes longer to achieve optimal strength. Don't rush for success! 

8. Harsh environmental conditions:

Too low temperature: Low temperature will significantly slow down the evaporation of solvents and the fusion process of PVC, resulting in poor curing.

Temperature is too high: High temperature may cause the solvent to evaporate too quickly, the glue to thicken, and affect penetration and fusion.

Humidity is too high: High humidity environment may introduce moisture to affect bonding or slow down curing.

Solution: Try to construct within the recommended temperature and humidity range. Low temperature PVC glue should be used in low temperature environment and the curing time should be greatly extended. Avoid outdoor work in rainy, snowy and high humidity weather.
