Purpose: Connect two straight pipes of different diameters.

Type:

Concentric reducers: The center lines are consistent, used for vertical pipes or horizontal pipes that do not require high flow rate uniformity.

Eccentric reducers: One side is straight, used for horizontal pipes (especially the pump inlet, the top of the pipe needs to be flush to prevent air accumulation, and the bottom needs to be flush to prevent liquid accumulation).

Installation precautions:

Water flow direction: Pay special attention! For eccentric reducers:

Water pump inlet: Usually "top flat" installation (straight side on top) is adopted to prevent cavitation caused by inhaled air.

Horizontal pipes: Usually "bottom flat" installation (straight side on the bottom) is adopted to prevent liquid accumulation at the bottom of the pipe.

Concentric reducers generally have no direction requirements, but it is also recommended to install the large end facing the upstream or main flow direction of the water flow.

Firm support: The diameter change point may be subject to additional stress. Ensure that the pipes at both ends of the fitting are well supported to avoid bending stress concentration at the joint.
