Purpose: A valve installed on a PE pipe for opening and closing/regulating fluids, with both ends usually having metal external threads or one end having internal threads and the other end having external threads.
Usage:
Wrap raw tape or apply sealant on the external threads at both ends of the valve.
The external thread at one end of the valve is screwed into the internal thread of the upstream pipe fitting and tightened appropriately.
The external thread at the other end of the valve is screwed into the internal thread of the downstream pipe fitting and tightened appropriately.
The connection between the ball valve body and the PE pipe is achieved by hot melting the PE pipe fittings at both ends.
Installation precautions:
Direction: Most ball valves have medium flow arrows, and must be installed in the direction of the arrow. Even for bidirectional sealed ball valves, it is recommended to install according to the instructions.
Valve handle operating space: Consider the operating space and rotation direction of the valve handle before installation to ensure that the valve can be opened and closed easily and unhindered after installation.
Tightening: When screwing in the pipe fitting, use a wrench to clamp the wrench position on the valve body, and then twist the pipe fitting or valve. Avoid only twisting the threaded connector at one end of the valve, which may cause the valve body to be twisted and stressed.
Open and closed state: During installation and before pressure testing after installation, it is recommended to open the valve to avoid damage to the valve due to misoperation or test pressure shock. After the test is completed, close it as needed.
Support: For larger or heavier valves, additional support may be required.
