Structure: Usually consists of three parts:
A metal body with copper internal threads.
A plastic part with a PE socket.
A sliding sleeve/compression nut.
One or more sealing rings.
Connection method:
1. PE pipe end connection: Insert the PE pipe into the plastic socket of the union.
Hot melt socket welding: The most common and reliable method. Heat the plastic socket and PE pipe end of the union, insert and cool to solidify.
Mechanical compression type: By tightening the compression nut on the union, the internal ferrule or toothed ring is driven to press against the outer wall of the PE pipe to achieve sealing. Hot melt welding is the most recommended and reliable connection method for PE pipes.
2. Metal end connection: Wrap an appropriate amount of raw tape around the internal copper thread of the joint or apply pipe thread sealant, and manually tighten it onto the metal valve or pipe fitting with external thread. Avoid excessive force that may cause the copper fitting to slip or crack.
